About MNSH                                          

 

Malteser Ndhimon Ne Shqiperi (MNSH) 

is a well-known humanitarian Albanian NGO founded by MALTESER HILFSDIENST (MHD) and operates in the north of Albania since 1993. The main activity of MNSH, with its headquarter in Shkodra city, is focused on medical and social field in Shkoder, Malesi a Madhe, Puka and Lezha districs. MNSH has about 70 active members that offer their help voluntary. There is the Malteser Youth group (age 14-18) and the other active members who are organized in groups according to the tasks to be fulfilled in medical and social field by MNSH. There is also the Civil Protection group who is trained and offers its contribution during catastrophes and emergency situations.
        The main projects of MNSH are: "Mountain project" covering base medical service in the deep mountain areas, including medical visits, necessary therapy, laboratory analyses, specialist consultations, emergency transports to hospitals and health training for local population; Roma population support, which consists on medical and social fields; First Aid trainings for Police, school students, as well as MNSH volunteers; Civil Protection structures to serve in emergency and catastrophe situations, etc.
         Because of its work, MNSH is well-known organizasion in Shkoder and Lezha. Its contribution is also appreciated by the church authorities, local and national goverment, international institutions, Caritas and other NGOs.
         MNSH is aware that it should still work hard to help and support people in need and to best fulfill the Malteser motto: "Preserving the faith and serving the poor und suffering".
