Bay Watch – Velipoja

Bay Watch Project intends to supply a beach rescue service to the most populated tourist location of the Shkodra region. The service is delivered in Velipoja Beach during the summer tourist season, from 15 of June to 31 August.

        The personnel is recruited from the police and form Malteser’s Volunteers who work free of charge.  The life guards are all trained in life saving techniques and First Aid as well. They’re equipped with transport, communication means, first aid kit, binoculars and watch towers. This initiative is supported by the local and central authorities’ representatives. It is meant to provide a safe environment for the numerous beach users by preventing accidents and providing rescue and emergency care in response to an incident.

       The goals of Bay Watch in Velipoja Beach are:

-Increase the safety of the public.

-Reduce the number of fatalities.

-Increase the attraction of Velipoja for the tourists.

-Increase the co-operation between the police and the community.

-Develop and strengthen the public’s trust in the state police.

The Bay-Watch ultimate goal is saving lives.

Last year MNSH members and policemen from police directorate were involved in delivering service, compounding project staff.  Malteser worked on voluntarily bases with its volunteers.  The volunteers followed a training program prior to work on life-saving techniques and first-aid.  The work was done in shifts, each 12 persons from Malteser who acted as lifeguards, paramedics and doctors, and 10 policemen from the Shkodra Police Directorate which provided security and additional lifesaving capacity. 

Local and central authorities’ representatives gave their support to the project which aimed to provide a safe environment for beach population during the season. 

The project created good conditions in terms of keeping clean environment by encouraging beach-goers not to litter. The members of the project “reminded” beach-goers about environmental rules. 

  Bay Watch – Velipojë

Projekti Bay Watch ka për qëllim që të ofrojë një shërbim të shpëtimit në plazh për turistët më të shumë më zonën e Shkodrës. Shërbimi ofrohet në Plazhin Velipojë gjatë kohës turistike të verës, nga 15 qershor – 31 gusht.

        Personeli përbëhet nga policë të rekrutuar dhe nga vullnetarë të MNSH të cilët e ofrojnë falas shërbimin e tyre. Rojet e plazhit janë të gjithë të trajnuar mbi teknikat e shpëtimi të jetës dhe në Ndihmën e Shpejtë. Ata janë të pajisur me mjete transporti dhe komunikimi, çantën e ndihmës së parë, dylbi dhe kulla vrojtimi. Kjo iniciativë mbështetet nga autoritetet përfaqësuese lokale. Ka për qëllim që të ofrojë një zonë të sigurt për plazhistët pushues duke parandaluar aksidentet dhe duke ofruar shpëtimin dhe kujdesin në rast urgjence të një aksidenti.

Qëllimet e Bay Watch në plazhin e Velipojës janë:

-Rritjen e sigurisë së pushuesve.

-pakësimin e numrit të fatkeqësive.

-Rritjen e numrit të turistëve në Velipojë.

-Rritjen e bashkëpunimit mes policisë dhe komunitetit.

-Zhvillimin dhe forcimin e besimin publik në policinë e shtetit.  

Qëllimi kryesor i  Bay-Watch është të shpëtojë jetë

vitin e kaluar anëtarët e MNSH dhe të policisë u përfshinë në shërbim në bazë vullnetare, të cilët së pari ndoqën një program trajnimi mbi teknikat e shpëtimit të jetëve dhe të ndihmës së parë. Puna u përmbush në grupe, 12 persona nga Malteser të cilët vepruan si roje plazhi, paramedikë dhe mjekë, dhe 10 policë nga Direktorati i Policisë Shkodër që sollën siguri në plazh.

Përfaqësuesit e autoriteteve lokale dhe qendrore dhanë mbështetjen e tyre ndaj këtij projekti. 

Projekti krijoi kushte të mira edhe për të mbajtur mjedisin të pastër duke i inkurajuar plazhistët që të mos e ndotin ambientin, duke u kujtuar edhe rregullat e mjedisit.
