In
2006, MNSH has built a Rapid Intervention Team serving in Civil
Protection 24 hours a day, which can be activated only in 15 minutes
after a notice on any emergency situation. This structure is compound by 6-8 volunteers, (nurses and
paramedics) which are also very well trained in nearly all aspects
of civil emergencies.
Malteser
takes part as member in the Committee of Civil Protection at
Prefecture of Shkodėr. In
many catastrophes happened in the North Albania, MNSH has played an
important role giving a considerable contribution in saving lives
and supporting population. During
last years, MNSH has done: ·
Reconstructing houses of Roma
population during the flood 2002, 2003 ·
Supporting with medicaments and
other materials to the Roma population located near the river Drin
in Lezha. ·
Intervention in Vig-Mnele area with
medical visits and delivering necessary medicine. ·
Cleaning and disinfection of
drinking water in Torovicė, Lezha. ·
Supporting of population in Korēa
after the earthquake, ·
Supporting Pult dhe Temal
population with medicaments and medical visits, as well as donating
emergency medicine for the area isolated by snow. ·
Delivering aid materials for
quarter Marlulaj, in the villages Guri i Zi, Oblikė during flood.
On
December 17, 2006 after a request from Prefect of Shkodra, MNSH CP
team was involved in another emergency situation in Shėngjin,
Prefecture of Lezha.
MNSH was the only Albanian NGO was requested to participate
in this emergency! Even
during year 2007 MNSH CP has been present in catastrophes, such as
the emergency situation, the terrible car accident in Dukagjin,
where 12 people of different ages lost their lives.
